So, I know that it’s the day before Thanksgiving and that means we should all be nice and all of that bullcrap, but “here’s the thing, here’s the thing,” I really must voice my dislike of Miss Julia Allison. No, I don’t know her. I emailed her recently regarding her horrible plight of not having a costume on the day before Halloween. It was an email designed to give her perspective on what should be/is considered a horrible plight. Alas, none of the points that I meant to convey were received. She didn’t even acknowledge them. She just replied with some bullshit lto the effect of, “being sad about not having a Halloween costume is really masking other things that are making me sad.” It was vapid and stupid and all that the majority of us who have been readers of her blog(s) expect of present-day Julia Allison.

So, why do I care? Why should I, right? Well, whenever her shit ends up on my dashboard on a re-blog or whatever, I realize that this person considers herself relevant and significant and entitled. The reality of it all is that she is none of the above. On this day before Thanksgiving, there are plenty of other people who are those things. People entitled to good food, a warm home, health and loved ones.

Yes, I post inane shit on my blog, but a) I do not profit from my blog and b) My job requires me to spend my days helping people, so I don’t feel guilty for being narcissistic enough to have a blog.

This girl does nothing for anyone. She posts pictures of her bloated hand with the fake nails. How is that content? How is that relevant? And again, why do I care?

I just bought these great Loeffler Randall boots last Saturday and I adore them. I generally buy two pairs of boots once every three years, as I am uber picky, but when I do, I sort of go nuts. Now, I was planning on purchasing these expensive babies at a department store and reaping the benefits of “points” on the card, but I wound up at a neighborhood boutique that recently started carrying LF and since I have been a customer of theirs for quite a long time, they flat out gave me a 20% discount!!! + they waived the tax.

Here’s the moral of this story, try to buy things in your local “Ma and Pa” stores more often because you’re doing more good for the economy helping these stores get buy than you are shopping at a Bloomies or a Saks, etc. Oh, and also, sweet, unexpected discounts never hurt anyone before.

If there is one thing I learned from the dramatic, drawn out disaster that was the [brief] love affair with the [extremely douchey] doctor, it's that you really can't force anything.

The God complex. They think the MD stands for Mini Deity. Don’t get me wrong, they obviously do incredible things that I can hardly begin to wrap my head around but it wouldn’t hurt them [particularly the eligible men] to tone down the ego.

Absofrigginlutely. The God Complex is such an innate part of [the majority] of people who become doctors. It’s a fact. I agree with you about some of them doing really incredible things, but the power of being able to bring someone back to life can really fuck with a person’s self-perception. I’ve gone out with quite a few doctors…never went past Date Three.

Conclusion: My parents will have to settle for having a daughter who is an attorney, but definitely NOT, EVER, TOTALLY NOT HAPPENING son-in-law doctor.

So, hypothetically, if someone were to buy this…and wear...

In High School, I had the biggest crush on a wannabe Jordan Catalano. To preface this little anecdote, I will say that I was one grade younger than Angela Chase when the show aired, and consequently, I thought that I was her. So, natch, I had a Jordan Catalano. He had the long hair. He was brooding. He barely spoke. He wore flannel. And he did all kinds of drugs.

Looking back at photos, both hardcopy and in my memory, I realized that my Jordan Catalano was no Jared Leto. He was so far from hot, that I don’t know what Kool Aid I was drinking to make him hot. He pops up occasionally like a Where’s Waldo and each time I see him, I realize how bad my taste was back then. In flannel, in foot wear and in boys.

I purchased this after work last night at Anthropologie. This is my very first purchase at this lovely store and I most definitely will be back (most likely via the sale items though).

I shall be wearing this for Thanksgiving…as a dress. It is marketed as a cardigan, but I am a rebel…a 4’11 rebel, and so, I can pull this off as a dress with a pair of thick tights. Hopefully, I shall not look Julia Allison inappropriate. In order to minimize any levels of discomfort around the guests, I shall wear a cream colored tank underneath (way too much cleave, even for me) to wear around polite society, or as LD and my Ma say, “not even in impolite society.”

Yesterday, I was sent to “divorce court” on Thomas Street (Centre Street ran out of parts and so Thomas Street is sort of an annex, if you will). I usually deal strictly with child support, violation of said child support orders and paternity.

After spending the morning in divorce court, I am of the opinion that straight people are the ones who should not be allowed to get married.
