Every time I wear new/newish shoes, the only thought going through my mind (other than “owie a new blister”) is that line from Clueless where Mel Horowitz, Cher’s father, asks Cher what she did in school that day.
Cher’s reply, “I broke in my purple clogs.”
Every. Time.
Also, if I’m wearing a pair that are making me wince, I think of that episode of Friends where Monica is wearing this gorgeous pair of new boots and they’re killing her, but she doesn’t care because they’re hot, and at the end of the day, she removes said boots and utters a phrase that I have actually said quite a few times in my own life,
“There is blood in my boots.”
